Head Starts / Early Head Starts

The Mission of Delta Community Action Association, Inc. is to continue waging the war on poverty by mobilizing resources that are used to provide services that enrich the growth and development of children, families, and our communities. Emphasis is placed on empowering individuals and families to make life-choices which build capacity and move them all toward self-sufficiency.

Delta Head Start/Early Head Start offers free, high quality child development services to income eligible families with children 4 months -5 years old. Delta Head Start/Early Head Start is child-focused learning but also provides comprehensive services to the child's family.

Centers operate from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

Before you can enroll your child/children in the Head Start/Early Head Start program; you must meet the US Department of Health and Human Services Income guidelines. For example, for a family of 4, the total household income must be at or below $24,250. Delta Head Start/Early Head Start will however accept families that are over this guideline by 10% only after all income eligible families are served.
